The legend that is F. Murray Abraham in his guise of seasoned storyteller and Nebular-award-winning author C.W. Longbottom, wrote us a little poem to support our developing group and production company.
We pray at the alter of your feet Mr Abraham and hope our paths cross professionaly in the future!
Oh and we like you too. x

Let’s begin with what many people will consider negatives. It’s low budget. Very low budget. The sound is bad in places and sometimes it feels under rehearsed.
However, for a low budget, small scale, made for YouTube web series, the show itself has great potential and a strong premise.
Very funny short episodes, which if extended could easily be a sitcom that could have a strong viewership.
Original and funny. I wish these guys all the best and hope to see more.

Hi everyone. If you are one of our 20+ YouTube subscribers, then you’ll already know who we are and what we do. For the rest of you, we are Functional Rejects: Karl, Gary and Jay. We create funny skits and share them for the whole world to watch. In the past 5 years we’ve made it about as far from Sunderland to Gateshead, so we have a long journey ahead of us.
We decided to create a web-based sitcom. 6 mini episodes in the first (and possibly only) series of our self titled show, “Functional Rejects”, to share via our website and YouTube channel. We were hoping to bring to you the full series by the beginning of summer. Alas, COVID-19 had other ideas. Presently we have filmed and completed episodes 1 and 4, with most of episodes 2 and 3 in the can. We have made the decision to release the pilot episode on its own until filming can resume and we can share with you the final five episodes.
We should point out that there are numerous problems with the pilot resulting from us never using camera and sound equipment before! We usually just point the phone and hope for the best. We had a particularly windy day and London’s opening scene was ruined with background weather noise – something we didn’t realise until editing. So, we pieced together the best sound from various takes and dubbed the scene the best we could. You live and learn!
As you’ll be aware Covid and lockdown lasted a long time, so we have made the decision to reduce the amount of epsiodes from 6 to 5. Mainly because in the last year, Karl has moved house three times and we used his living room as our main set.
